Explore

The globe, the map, and the search behind them. A way to find good roads, public drives and drivers to follow, before you follow anyone at all.

Explore is where Marque opens up before you’ve followed a soul. It’s built around a globe - a slow, low view of the world you can turn and drop into, rather than a wall of thumbnails.

What you’ll find there

  • Public drives - drives people have chosen to make discoverable, from all over.
  • Roads worth driving - routes you can follow, including scenic suggestions near you.
  • Drivers to follow - people who have made themselves discoverable, so your feed has somewhere to start.

The globe and the map

The globe is for wondering; the map is for looking. Open the map drops you onto it at wherever you were hovering, and Back to the globe returns you. Each carries the place and the camera across, so you never lose your spot switching between them. Roads, public drives and the heat of where people actually drive all sit on the map, with filters for length, climb, difficulty, surface and whether you’ve driven it.

Finding a specific place

Search on the map takes a place, a street or a full address, and knows which is which. A town or a pass, a street by name, or a street with a house number on it. Results lean towards where you’re already looking, so a common street name resolves to the one you meant. It’s the same search behind Where to? on the record screen.

Roads you keep

Anything you bookmark is under Saved in the sheet, and roads you’ve drawn yourself sit beside them under Drawn.

What shows up here

Explore only ever surfaces things people opted into showing. A drive appears because it was posted and the account is discoverable; a driver appears because they turned discoverable as a driver on. Your private drives, and everything from a private account, stay out of it. If you would rather not appear in Explore at all, that’s one switch away.
