Account & billing

Your account and data

Confirming your email, the devices you’re signed in on, cancelling Premium, and deleting your account, grace period included.

Your account is yours to leave whenever you want, and your data goes with you when you do. Here is how each of those works, and one thing to watch out for with billing.

Confirming your email

Recording, your garage and your own reports work the moment you sign up. Anything that reaches other people - posting a drive, following someone, sharing - waits until you’ve confirmed your email address. It’s the cheapest way we have of keeping the app free of accounts nobody is behind.

We send the link when you join. If you never opened it, the app will offer to send the link again the moment you try to post, and if it’s not in your inbox it’s worth a look in spam.

The devices you’re signed in on

Settings → Account → Signed-in devices lists every phone, watch and browser currently signed in to your account. You can end any one of them, or use Sign out every other device to clear the lot and keep only the one in your hand.

Tip

Worth doing if you’ve ever signed in on a borrowed phone, and worth checking first if anything about your account looks like it wasn’t you.

Signing out

You can sign out from your settings. Signing out on a device clears that device. Your drives are safe on your account and come straight back when you sign in again.

Cancelling Premium

Tip

A subscription is cancelled in your device settings - your App Store or Google Play account - because that’s who you bought it from. Deleting the Marque app, or your Marque account, doesn’t cancel it. Cancel first, then delete if you want to.

Marque can deep-link you to the right settings screen from inside the app. See Marque Premium for the rest.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app, under settings. Because it’s the one action that can’t be taken back, Marque asks you to prove it’s you first: type your password, or - if you signed up with Apple or Google - sign in through them again. A sign-in from a while ago isn’t enough on its own.

Deletion is then not instant, also on purpose. It starts a 30-day grace period. During those 30 days your account is deactivated and hidden, but recoverable: simply sign back in within the window and your account and drives are restored, exactly as they were.

After the grace period ends, your data is permanently purged and can’t be recovered. You can also start deletion from the web at Delete your account.

Good to know

Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a paid subscription. Cancel that separately in your device settings, or you may keep being charged.

Deleting your data

If you want specific data removed rather than your whole account, or you want to make a data request, start at Delete your data. What Marque holds and why is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Telling us something is wrong

There’s a Send feedback row in the app, under Settings → Help. Say what happened and what you expected instead; your app version, device and the screen you were on are attached for you, and you can include the screenshot. There’s also Shake to report under Settings → Personalization: turn it on and you can shake the phone on whichever screen is misbehaving, though never while you’re driving.
