Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 July 2026

Marque is a logbook for your car - it tracks your drives, your vehicles, and your build, and lets you share the ones worth showing. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

Who we are

Marque (“Marque”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Tomáš Krčál, acting as an individual data controller. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@getmarque.club.

What we collect

We only collect what the app needs to work. That falls into a few categories:

  • Account & profile - your email, name, email-verification status, and the sign-in method you use (email/password, or Google or Apple sign-in). Optionally, onboarding details you provide such as driving style, experience level, a short garage description, and goals.
  • Vehicles & builds - make, model, year, optional VIN and nickname, modifications, maintenance records, build snapshots, and any photos you upload.
  • Drives & location - when you record a drive, we store its GPS trace (route, timestamps, speed, altitude, heading, accuracy) along with distance, duration, and any title you add. Location is collected only while you are recording a drive.
  • Subscriptions - if you buy a subscription, we store the store (App Store or Google Play), product ID, transaction identifiers, and status. We never see or store your card or payment details - those stay with Apple or Google.
  • Profile & social - if you choose a public handle, it and your bio and avatar are visible to others. We record who you follow, who follows you, and the drives and builds you react to, so we can build your feed.
  • Device & technical - a push-notification token (if you enable notifications), plus standard session data such as IP address and user-agent used to keep you signed in and to protect against abuse.
  • Usage & diagnostics - how the app is used (screens opened, features tapped) and crash and error reports, including the device model and OS version. We use this to fix bugs and decide what to build. It is tied to your account so we can debug your reports, and it is never used for advertising.

How we use it

  • To provide the app - store your garage and drives, sync across devices, and render your shared pages.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To process and verify subscriptions and unlock the features you pay for.
  • To send transactional messages (e.g. email verification, password reset) and, if enabled, push notifications such as maintenance reminders.
  • To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing & visibility

Drives and build pages are private by default. A drive or build is only reachable by a public link when you explicitly choose to share it. For publicly shared drives we trim roughly the first and last 200 metres of the route to keep your start and end points (such as your home) private. Sharing a link makes that content viewable by anyone who has the link until you make it private again.

Legal bases (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, we process your data on these bases:

  • Contract - to provide the app and the features you sign up for.
  • Legitimate interests - to secure the service, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
  • Consent - for location recording and push notifications, which you turn on and can revoke at any time.
  • Legal obligation - where we must retain certain records (e.g. for tax on purchases).

Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors who handle data on our behalf, only as needed to run the service:

  • Hosting & infrastructure - our servers, managed database, and object storage that hold your account and media.
  • Sign-in providers - Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.
  • App stores - Apple and Google, who process subscription payments and provide purchase receipts.
  • Email & push delivery - to send transactional email and (if enabled) push notifications.
  • Product analytics - PostHog, hosted in the EU, which tells us how the app’s features are used.
  • Crash & error reporting - Sentry, which captures diagnostics when something breaks so we can fix it.

International transfers

Your data is stored in the European Union. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data — profile, vehicles, drives, media, and device tokens - is deleted, except where we are required to retain limited records (such as purchase records) to meet legal obligations. See Delete your account.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, email support@getmarque.club. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing”. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email support@getmarque.club.

Children

Marque is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
