The feed, nods, and notifications

Follow other drivers, see their drives in your feed, give a nod to a good one, and keep up through the bell.

The Feed is where the drives of the people you follow show up. Post a good drive of your own and it lands in their feed in turn. It’s the quiet social centre of Marque, a scroll of real drives rather than a firehose.

Following drivers

Find drivers through Explore, through a shared drive, or by searching a handle, and follow them. Their posted drives then appear in your feed. If a driver has a private account, your follow has to be accepted first.

Nods

A nod is how you tell another driver their drive was a good one. A tap of appreciation, no more loaded than that. Give a nod to any drive in your feed; the driver gets a quiet notification that you did. It’s Marque’s version of a like, named for the thing drivers actually do to each other on the road.

Comments

You can leave a comment on a drive too, if a nod isn’t enough. The usual courtesies apply, and if someone is out of line, you can block them from the thread.

New posts, without the floor moving

Drives that land while you’re reading don’t shove the feed down under your thumb. They wait behind a new posts pill at the top; tap it when you’re ready and the feed catches up. Scroll on and the next page loads underneath on its own.

Notifications

The bell collects what has happened while you were away: new nods, new followers, comments and follow requests - and updates live as they come in. You’ll also get a push to your phone for the moments worth surfacing, so you don’t have to keep checking. A push about someone’s drive opens that drive.

Choosing what pushes

Settings → Notifications has a switch for each kind, so you can keep the ones you want and silence the rest:

Drives from people you follow - when someone you keep up with posts one.
Social - new followers, nods and comments on your drives.
Badges - when you unlock one.
Clubs - club messages, meets and join requests.
Your roads - when someone drives a road you published.
Maintenance - when something on a car is due.

Good to know

These are Marque’s own switches, and they’re the ones to reach for first. Turning Marque off entirely in your phone’s settings silences all six at once, including the ones you might have wanted.
