Beyond the road

Meet Apex

Apex is the name for the writing in Marque - the debriefs, the road picks, the words around your drives.

Some of what you read in Marque was written rather than measured. Apex is the name for that writing - the paragraph that reads a drive back to you, the description on a road you have never driven, the caption you did not have to think of.

Apex is not a chatbot in a corner of the app waiting to be talked to. There is nowhere to go and open it. It turns up in the handful of places where a sentence does something a number cannot, and it stays out of the rest.

Where you meet Apex

  • The debrief - a drive put into plain language: the corner that stood out, how composed you were, how it sat against your own history. On the drive’s report.
  • Your month - the same thing at a longer range, once a month. Your month in review.
  • Roads worth driving - the scenic routes Marque suggests are found by Apex and written up the way somebody who had driven them would describe them. See following a road.
  • Captions - stuck for what to say about a drive, you can ask for a line and take it or ignore it.
  • Build advice - a read of what is on your car and what it wants next.
  • A word on a rivalry - a light note when you and another driver keep trading places on a road.

The violet sparkle

Anything Apex wrote or picked carries a violet sparkle. The colour is deliberate: it is the one colour in Marque that never changes with your chosen livery, so it means the same thing on every screen and on everybody’s phone. If you see it, a machine had a hand in those words. If you do not, it is your driving, measured.

What Apex will not do

Apex describes what already happened. It does not tell you to carry more speed, does not set you a target, and does not grade a drive against anybody else. That boundary is checked on every single thing it writes, not left to good intentions - which is also why a debrief has no “how do I do better” button to tempt anyone into asking for one.

It waits to be asked

Nothing here writes itself the moment you finish a drive. A debrief takes a tap, and so does a caption - and once something is written it is kept, so opening it again costs nothing and reads the same as the day it was written.

Good to know

The debrief, your month and build advice are part of Premium. Whatever Apex writes, it describes what you did - it never turns a drive into a target or rewards going faster.

Still stuck?

If something here does not match what you see, or you have hit a wall, we would rather hear about it. Email support@getmarque.club and a human will get back to you.
